Coding 2025-11-15
I'm still a bit out of sorts as far as following the prompts goes, but I'm trying. At the very least, I've confirmed that my tossed-together Python code can apply sound changes to a "lexicon". I think this has enough for me to handle the tech side of tracking the sound changes, so my focus now should be mostly on getting a better handle on sound changes. As part of that, I redid my proto-lexicon with slightly more sensible-looking syllable structure. Before I experiment with it, I'm going to have to audit all of my changes, so I'm not going to do anything with it just yet. There's also the fact that I want to introduce a new stop series to make some of the changes I have in mind work, so I definitely shouldn't be rushing this.
So, what needs to be done is:
- Inventory the current syllable structures
- Redo the janky generation code to be a lot nicer (because I've switched to a simpler syllable structure)
- Alter existing entries to fill in gaps, or add new entries
I'll do that when I feel up for it. For now, bed.
Good night.
