Okay, after a lot of struggle (something seems to be wrong with the whole "heuristics" thing that set comprehensions have, and some of my efforts to fix it landed me on StackOverflow reading about "triggers", and completely confused because this was happening in set comprehensions rather than a forall, so I couldn't figure out how to translate the stuff about triggers into this context), I've got the functions from last night implemented and the code somewhat cleaned up.

Now, for the rest of the cleanup, I need to figure out how to set up modules and imports so I can slim down these files and come up with better names.

For the moment, I need to wind down, now that I've accomplished a bunch of stuff, at great psychic cost.
